TUMMY TRUCK
Procedure Overview
Tummy Tuck surgery reduces fat and skin, creating a smoother and firmer abdomen. It’s helpful for people who have lax skin caused by pregnancy, aging, significant weight loss, genetics, or prior surgery.
Are you a right candidate?
If you are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit on the abdomen or loose abdominal skin, then consider a Tummy Tuck.
The surgery is particularly helpful for women who, because of multiple pregnancies, have weak abdominal muscles and are annoyed by loose skin that has been over-stretched and no longer responds to diet and exercise.
Procedure Length : 2-4 hours
Recovery Time : 2-3 Weeks
Anesthesia : General or Spinal
Inpatient / Outpatient : 1 or 2 nights stay
Time of work : 2 weeks
Getting back to normal/sport : 4-6 weeks (full recovery from swelling and bruising may take up to six months)
What happens after the operation?
Normally, the patient will be able to go home the same day. Some may experience some pain for which you will be given pain relief. Doctors ask that patients return to Oriana Speicality Hospital for a wound review one week after the surgery and leave any dressings intact until that appointment. We advise you take 1-2 weeks off work and stop any activity or exercise for 6 weeks.
The final breast shape and implant position will become visible by 3-6 months after the surgery however swelling will resolve around 3 months.
